- 27th Annual, California State Capitol Kwanzaa Celebration 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at the Capitol, West Lawn. This event begins a week of festive events showcasing California-grown fresh fruit and vegetable production, fish and wildlife, forestry, world trade, fashion and cultural tourism. Free and open to the public.
- Greater Sacramento Kwanzaa Unity Celebration 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at Rancho Cordova City Hall. A night of community, unity, and celebration as Rancho Cordova kicks off its annual Kwanzaa celebration. Free and open to the public.
- 27th Annual, California State Capitol Kwanzaa Gala Dinner Celebration 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Howard Johnson by Wyndham. The California 175 Kwanzaa Celebration reflects upon ancient Pan African and modern agriculture traditions that share the importance of โfirst fruits of the harvestโ toward restoring the original intent and function of ancient Pan African harvest celebrations. Tickets from $50.
- CSA 23rd Annual Kwanzaa Celebration 4-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at the Center for Spiritual Awareness, 1275 Starboard Drive, West Sacramento. This vibrant, family-friendly event honoring African heritage and community spirit serves as a central gathering for the Sacramento areaโs observance of the holiday. Expect drumming and dancing, storytelling, activities for kids, vendors, and more. Free and open to the public.
- Apply for Zeta Beta Lambda Alumni Chapter Scholarship Application Application deadline is Saturday, Jan. 10. This scholarship considers academics, extracurricular activities, character, community involvement, and career objectives. The program will consider applications only from high school seniors in Sacramento and surrounding areas graduating in spring 2026. All sections are weighted and scored. All information submitted is subject to verification. Any information found to be false or misleading will nullify an application. Any information that is not included or left blank will severely affect your application and may cause it to be rejected.
