- ’Revolutionary Grain’: Exhibit On View at the California Museum Noon-5 p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays, Sept. 23-Nov. 2, at the California Museum. Striking contemporary portraits and deeply personal stories of former members of the Black Panther Party. The exhibit portrays former Panthers as lawyers, social workers, teachers and political activists who continue to make a difference in their communities. Tickets from $8.

- ‘& Juliet’ 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday, Sept. 24-Oct. 5, at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center. Broadway’s most fun hit musical, “& Juliet,” flips the script on the greatest love story ever told, imagining what would happen next if Juliet hadn’t ended it all over Romeo, and got a second chance at life and love — on her own terms. - Hands-On Career Fair and Block Party 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at the former Sleep Train Arena parking lot. The Sacramento-Sierra Building and Construction Trades Council (SSBCTC) invites underserved community members and the general public to experience hands-on trade demos, meet local unions and major employers, and enjoy food, music, and giveaways at its “Taking It To the Streets” Career Fair and Block Party, produced by People Working Together (PWT). Free and open to the public.
- ‘Love, Lies, & Brunch’ 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26-28, at Black Box Theater, 1075 W. Capitol Ave. West Sacramento. Written by Niyah Moore and directed by Moore and Anthony D’Juan. A juicy stage dramedy that serves up secrets, shade, and sisterhood all before the mimosas run out. - 3rd Annual ELK GROVE FALL JAZZ FESTIVAL 2025 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Laguna Town Hall Amphitheatre, 3020 Renwick Ave., Elk Grove. This exciting outdoor musical concert features international and local artists, headlined by the incredible saxophonist Marcus Anderson. This traveling event focuses on island and reggae music, rooted in the spirit of “holo holo,” a Hawaiian term meaning “to travel, to sail, to move.” The festival is produced by Good Vibez Presents and features artists including J Boog, Common Kings, Katchafire and Josh Tatofi. - Be the Change: A Puberty Workshop for Families 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Sierra 2 Center Learnery, room 9. This class is for parents and their children to enjoy together and learn about the physical, social, and emotional changes in puberty. Through games and storytelling you will learn reproductive anatomy for all bodies, hormones, feelings, and relationships. Tickets are $65 and good for one parent accompanied by two children.

- Sacramento Blues Society: 2025 Hall of Fame Awards & Concert 1-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Harlow’s. This is the 17th anniversary of the popular event. Honorees are chosen each year in recognition of their contributions to the preservation and promotion of the blues in Sacramento for at least 20 years. This year’s inductees are Dave Segal, David Garrity, Paul Vieira, Stanley Alves, and Wayne Smith. Tickets are $27.
- Speakers Series featuring Malcolm D. Lee 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at The Guild Theater. Join acclaimed writer, director, and producer Malcolm D. Lee—the creative force behind beloved films such as The Best Man, Roll Bounce, and Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, as well as the hit series The Best Man: The Final Chapters—for an intimate fireside chat as he discusses his new book The Best Man, the first in a trilogy that continues the story where the series left off.
