- Echoes of Justice: How History Shapes Today’s Legal Struggles 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Sacramento State’s University Union in the Hinde Auditorium. To mark the launch of Sacramento State’s new bachelor of arts concentration in history, law and social justice, the university’s department of history hosts a roundtable discussion with four Sacramento-area lawyers to address the intersections between history and contemporary legal struggles. - Lil Tracy – The Blood Moon Tour 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Ace of Spades. He is most known for his prominent role in the “SoundCloud rap” and emo rap scenes, and his frequent collaborations with the late rapper Lil Peep. Tickets are $35.
- Career Buzz: Government Noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, via Zoom. Discover meaningful careers in government beyond elected office at our next Career Buzz! - Wednesday Nooner: The Backburners Noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Sacramento State’s University Union, Serna Plaza. A dynamic Sacramento-based band known for a high-energy blend of funk, soul, and jazz, the Backburners will bring the heat to this midday performance. Kick back on the lawn, enjoy fresh popcorn while supplies last, and soak in the soulful sounds. Free and open to the public.
- Greater Sacramento Urban Music Awards 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Sofia. Honor local artists, musical legacies, and the future of soul & R&B. Get tickets and join the movement. Tickets from $100.
- DreDayTV – Live Comedy 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Laughs Unlimited Comedy Club. At just 30 years old, DreDayTV, a comedic force hailing from St. Louis, has made waves across the internet, amassing more than 200 million views on social media. Tickets from $29.
- Life & Libations Presents: The Old School Link-Up 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Midway Bar and Grill, 330 Third St. West Sacramento. Join a night of nostalgia and good vibes and groove to your favorite ’80s and ’90s throwback tunes, sip on signature cocktails, and connect with old friends and new faces. - Black Alumni Chapter (BAC) Welcome Back Mixer 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Blue Cue. Kick off the new year with the first BAC event of the season – happening the night before Black Org Night! Reconnect with fellow BAC alumni, welcome recent graduates, and strengthen the intergenerational community.
