  1. Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels 7:05 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and 12:35 p.m. Thursday, May 19-22, at Sutter Health Park. Experience a night of Major League Baseball in Sacramento. Watch rookie Kyren Paris of the Angels battle it out with newly extended Lawrence Butler of the Athletics. Tickets from $25.
  2. Food Truck Movie Night at Firestone Park 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Firestone Park, 5415 Poker Lane, Antelope. Bring your loved ones, a blanket or chairs, and immerse yourself in the magic of โ€œThe Wild Robotโ€ (2024), with delicious treats from an amazing lineup of food trucks.   4. J Street Film Festival Doors open at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Crest Theater. Come out for a night of short films created by Sac Stateโ€™s best filmmakers. Free and open to the public.
  5. City Works Day 9:30 a.m.-noon Wednesday, May 21, at Folsom City Lions Park. Hop into the cab of a Folsom garbage truck, climb aboard a fire engine, make it rain on a stormwater table, and participate in other fun interactive activities. This popular and free annual event is designed to encourage residents to discover and learn about the City of Folsomโ€™s variety of public services. Free and open to the public.
  6. Women In Business Masterclass: Sales & Marketing 9 a.m.-noon Thursday, May 22, at 1321 Garden Hwy. Join Mending of Mothers Inc. for the next session of this empowering series, focused on sales and marketing strategies for women entrepreneurs and business owners. This masterclass will be facilitated by Dr. Deneโ€™ Starks-Mcgee of DJS Business Solutions.   9. Jazz Night: Harley White Jr. 7-8:45 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Crocker Art Museum. Kick off the series with Harley White Jr., a Pulitzer Prize-nominated musician and composer. White pays homage to past jazz titans such as Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong, while also pushing boundaries and experimenting with new sounds from funk and Latin traditions. Tickets are $25.
  10. Shapel Lacey – Live Comedy 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Punch Line Comedy Club. Shapel Lacey is known for his energetic performances and unique comedic voice. He often draws from personal experiences, including his background in punk rock and his upbringing in a blended family, to craft relatable and humorous narratives. Laceyโ€™s comedy style is characterized by its high energy, physicality, and heartfelt storytelling, allowing him to connect deeply with diverse audiences. Tickets from $32.
  11. Sacramento County Fair 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday-Sunday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday, May 22-26, at Cal Expo.   12. Concerts in the Park: XZIBIT 6-9:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Cesar Chavez Plaza. The rap legend performs with the rest of the bill featuring Harris Rudman, D. Sean, and DJ Oasis. Free and open to the public.
  13. Clean Slate 6:30-10 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Swabbies Restaurant and Bar. Clean Slate was inspired by the likes of Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire, AWB, Spinners, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and many other artists now considered old school. โ€‹This band of 10 professional musicians is dedicated to delivering a high-energy show that leaves audiences wanting more.   14. โ€˜The Windowโ€™ 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23-25, at Celebration Arts. Written by Imani Mitchell and directed by Erinn Anova. On her 30th birthday, Destiny should be celebrating, but she has found herself in complete isolation. This introspective new work examines one womanโ€™s emotional journey as she confronts truths she has hid from for far too long. A special limited run, lasting only three days. BT Kingsley is a multifaceted entertainer โ€“ comedian, actor, producer and entrepreneur โ€“ making waves across stand-up stages, television, and film.   17. Capital City Jazz Festival 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at Old Sacramento State Historic Park. Featuring live performances by Jeff Ryan, AgapeSoul, Nagual and Harley White Jr. Quartet, with delicious food trucks and a wine and beer garden. Come enjoy an unforgettable afternoon of music, community and celebration. Free and open to the public.
  18. Black Family Day Noon- 8p.m. Saturday, May 24, at UC Davis Quad. For more than 50 years, Black Family Day has been a free annual event in which students and families gather to celebrate Black excellence, empowerment and community. Throughout the day, speakers and entertainers commemorate the achievements of the Black community and cultivate discussion about contemporary issues. Local vendors offer delicious food and shopping experiences. Organizations and clubs join the festivities to share information and host engaging activities. Free and open to the public.

Memorial Weekend Chill Out>>> Vibes Check Party Edition…!!! 12:30-9 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at Jamaica Irie Spice, 4700 Northgate Blvd. Join us for a day filled with good Caribbean music, authentic Jamaican food, and even better vibes.   22. Author Talk featuring Larry Ukali Johnson-Redd 1-3 p.m. Sunday, May 25, at Underground Books. A powerful evening with acclaimed author, educator and activist Larry Ukali Johnson-Redd, who shares insights from his newest work, โ€œBlack Self-Love Spoken Word and Reparations.โ€ This dynamic two-part collection weaves poetry, cultural commentary and calls for justice, capturing the strength and beauty of Black identity and the ongoing movement for reparations.
