- LIVE FROM THE GRILL: Basi Vibe 6-9 p.m. Monday, April 7, at the Butterscotch Den, 3406 Broadway. Basi Vibe brings his signature smooth vocals and soulful energy for a stripped-down, up-close performance. Meanwhile, the grill is chef Byron Hughesโ instrument that he plays to the tune of five courses, putting on a performance of his own. Tickets are $135.

- Science Cafรฉ by ASATTCI: Chemical Tinker Toys with Jared Shaw 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at A Seat at the Table Books, 9257 Laguna Springs Drive No. 130, Elk Grove. Science Cafรฉ is coming to Elk Grove. This monthโs topic: โChemical Tinker Toys: How to Build New Antibiotics and Other Useful Molecules.โ This monthโs speaker is Dr. Jared Shaw, UC Davis chemistry professor. Letโs explore the fascinating world of molecular design. Grab a drink, enjoy a snack and dive into thought-provoking discussions about science in a relaxed setting. Free, attendees must register.
- Preservation Hall Jazz Band 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at the Harris Center, 10 College Parkway, Folsom. Preservation Hall Jazz Band has held the torch of New Orleans music aloft for more than 60 years, all while carrying it enthusiastically forward as a reminder that the history they were founded to preserve is a vibrantly living history. PHJB marches that tradition forward once again on โSo It Is.โ The album redefines what New Orleans music means today by tapping into a sonic continuum that stretches back to the cityโs Afro-Cuban roots, through its common ancestry with the Afrobeat of Fela Kuti and the โfire musicโ of Pharoah Sanders and John Coltrane. - Community Diaper Distribution Noon-2 p.m. second Thursdays monthly at Roberts Family Development Center. Receive free diapers for newborns to size 7. Scan the QR code on the flier to sign up ahead of the event and ensure that you receive diapers. Early arrival is also encouraged.
- โMajor Jazz,โ The Play 7-8:30 p.m. Friday and 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 11-13, at 1212 Merkley Ave., West Sacramento. As the sounds of bebop fills the air, โMajor Jazzโ takes audiences on a captivating journey through the sights, sounds, and soul of a bygone era, where love and music collide in a symphony of passion and longing. Based on the novel also written by Niyah Moore. Tickets are $25.
- โJoseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoatโ 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Thursday, April 11-17, at the UC Davis Health Pavilion. The irresistible masterpiece by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice follows the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israelโs favorite son. - Terence Blanchard: โFLOWโ 20th Anniversary Tour 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at the Mondavi Center, Jackson Hall, UC Davis. Seven-time Grammy winner, two-time Oscar nominee and newly appointed executive artistic director of SFJAZZ Terence Blanchard returns to the Mondavi Center with The E-Collective for an unforgettable night celebrating the 20th anniversary of his seminal album, โFLOW.โ Tickets from $20.
- Sacramento Cabaret LIVE featuring Band Hayez 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, April 11-12, at the Sac Dance Lab, 1807 Tribute Road. - Eggs Galore and More and Bunny Breakfast 8-11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Joe Rizal Community Center.
