  1. Festival of the Trees Gala – 5:30-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Sunrise Event Center. Enjoy a delicious, semiformal dinner while making memories with family, friends and the community.   4. The Menโ€™s Healing Circle – 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 7000 Franklin Blvd., Suite 1020. Hooked on Fishing Not Violence and Heal and Rebuild Collective present this weekly event that features special guest speakers and more. Free and open to all men.
  5. There Goes the Neighborhood Comedy Tour – 8-9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Laughs Unlimited Comedy Club. Enjoy this one-of-a-kind comedy tour that has showcased many mainstream comics you know and see today. You never know who will drop in for a surprise set. Tickets are $15.
  6. Sacramento Cultural and Linguistic Center Open House – 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at 1610 Arden Way, Suite 273.   8. โ€œBy the Way, Meet Vera Stark,โ€ by Lynn Nottage – 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30-Dec. 3, at American River College Theater, stage two. A sharp-edged comedy that tells the truth about Hollywoodโ€™s color barrier through the life of a woman who should have been a star. Tickets are $18.
  9. Free Princess Photoshoot – 3-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at PFZ Photo Studio. Included are a free, 15-minute princess photoshoot, a variety of princess/fairytale-themed backdrops, and princess props such as tiaras, crowns, wands, wings, jewelry and more.   10. California Black Chamber of Commerce Holiday Mixer – 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Seasons 52. Distinguished guest speakers from the City of Sacramento and SMUD will discuss programs tailored to benefit small businesses. Prize opportunities for attendees. Free and open to the public.
  11. West Sacramento Tree Lighting – 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at City Hall. Join the City of West Sacramento and the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce as they kick off the holiday season. Come out for live music, local entertainment, holiday shopping with local makers, free kids activities, games and free pictures with Santa. Free and open to the public.
  12. Jamminโ€™ Joโ€™s Winter Dance 2023 – 6:30-11:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Country Club Event Center, Sky Room. Jamminโ€™ Joโ€™s Winter Dance returns after a three-year hiatus. Come out for a night of drink specials, photos, dancing, friends and fun. Tickets from $15.
  13. Season of Lights Jazz Concert – 7-9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the Brickhouse Gallery and Art Complex. Enjoy the gallery filled with luminaries, refreshments and great jazz from Beth Duncan, Carol Manson and the Blue Skies Band. Beverages and holiday treats will be served. Tickets are $25.
  14. โ€œA Raisin in the Sunโ€ – 7 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 1-Dec. 24, at Celebration Arts. By Lorraine Hansberry, a classic stage drama considered to have โ€œchanged American theater foreverโ€ and the first play written by a Black woman produced on Broadway. โ€œA Raisin in the Sunโ€ tells the story of a lower-class Black familyโ€™s struggle to gain middle-class acceptance. Tickets from $23.
  15. River City Chorale Presents the Brightest and Best Holiday Concert – 7:30-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 2, at St. Markโ€™s Lutheran Church. They will sing about the sacred joys of the Nativity, as well as the secular joys of Santa, sugar plums and family gatherings. Tickets are $25.
  16. Trans-Siberian Orchestra – The Ghosts of Christmas Eve – 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Golden 1 Center. By infusing seasonal classics with rock flamboyance and an eye-popping visual presentation, what began as a side project for a veteran group of American hard rockers has grown into one of todayโ€™s top-selling acts, with more than 10 million concert tickets sold since 1999. Tickets from $60.
  17. Third Annual Holiday Craft Fair – 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at 1029 Del Paso Blvd. Support local artists and have fun shopping for unique handmade cards, gifts, ornaments and more. Masks required indoors. Free care-kits will be available for all attendees. Free and open to the public.
  18. Wish Upon a Star and Holiday Expo – 1-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Hiram Johnson High School. The entire production is a musical centered around the children and celebrity stars.
