  1. The Honorable Gwen Moore Legislative Reception – 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel. In honor of the late Gwen Moore, former California state representative.
  2. Free Ramen at Tanuki in Elk Grove – Noon-2 p.m. Thursdays throughout April and May at Tanuki’s Japanese Restaurant in Elk Grove. We’re offering our older customers, 65 and older, free ramen (dine in only). ID required.
  3. Tech N9ne – 6 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Ace of Spades. Don’t miss this live performance from the legendary Tech N9ne.
  4. “Insomnia,” by Brandon Leake – 8-9 p.m. Thursday, April 20, and Friday, April 21, at the Ooley Theater. “Insomnia” is a spoken-word poetry play written and executed by Leake, the Season 15 winner of “America’s Got Talent. This is a fictional portrayal of a college senior who is at odds with what will happen post-graduation, but most sincerely an inner grappling with traumas of his past and his own commitment issues.
  5. Mental Health Awareness: Call for Art – Deadline to submit is Thursday, April 20, at Sacramento County Department of Health Services. Artists must submit a signed submission and release of liability form at stopstigmasacramento.org. Individuals living with a mental health condition, or those supporting others who live with a mental health condition, are welcome to submit artwork to help dispel myths and mental health stereotypes, and promote messages of wellness, hope and recovery.
  6. Steph Sanders – 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22, at Laughs Unlimited Comedy Club. Steph Sanders is a multifaceted comedian/actor with a fresh energy and raucous material for everyone to enjoy. Look out for Steph on the small and large screen as he continues to take the entertainment world by storm.
  7. Drug Take-Back – 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Folsom Police Department. Bring old, unneeded or expired prescription medications. Items accepted include: pills, liquids (please keep in its original container and ensure it is sealed), creams/ointments (please keep in its original container and ensure it is sealed) and vape pens (batteries must be removed).
  8. Elk Grove Brewfest – 2-6 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Elk Grove Regional Park. Ticket includes unlimited beer, wine and a tasting cup. Food is not included but will be available.
  9. Sacramento Republic FC vs. Detroit FC – 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Heart Health Park. Come out and watch your Sacramento FC dominate the pitch. Sacramento Republic FC is one of the premier clubs in the USL Championship. Since 2014, Republic FC has reflected the indomitable nature of California’s capital city, breaking league records year over year, winning the championship in its inaugural season, and sparking a regional passion for soccer.
  10. Jibe Bike Swap – 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at North Natomas Aquatics Complex parking lot. Donate, leave for consignment or purchase used bicycles. Find the perfect new-to-you bike, size up for your kids, or sell that old bike that has been taking up space in your garage.
