- The Truth About Dyslexia – 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Jessup University Lecture Hall. Learn more about the way a dyslexic brain processes differently and how that affects all aspects of learning. Expand your knowledge of research-based instruction/strategies to support students, employees and friends with dyslexia.
- California Reparations Task Force Public Hearings – 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 30, at California Environmental Protection Agency’s (CalEPA) Byron Sher Auditorium. Stay up to date with current and accurate information on California Reparations and the California Reparations Task Force.
- Daddy’s Here: Fatherhood is Not Easy – 7- 8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, via Zoom. Mr. Kyle Draper, the Sacramento Kings’ play-by-play announcer, will be the special guest, plus a message from Terry Moore, director of adult services at the nonprofit Center for Fathers and Families. - 2023 2-RAW SK8RS Annual Spring Jam – Midnight-5 a.m. Friday, March 31, and Saturday, April 1, as well as 7-11 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Sunrise Rollerland. The events will be DJ’d by DJ D from New York, DJ Joe Bowen from Chicago and DJ Wayne D from Los Angeles, respectively.
- Fairytale Town Volunteer Orientation – 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at Fairytale Town. Become a Fairytale Town volunteer! - Special Storytime and Book Signing with Author JaNay Brown-Wood – 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 1, at Barnes & Noble Birdcage. Dr. JaNay Brown-Wood is an award-winning children’s author, poet, educator and scholar. She has three renowned children’s books, “Imani’s Moon,” “Grandma’s Tiny House: A Counting Story!” and “SHHH! - National Poetry Month with CA Poet Laureate Lee Herrick – 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Sacramento Poetry Center. Kick off National Poetry Month with three powerful poet laureates, Herrick is featured alongside Sacramento Poet Laureate Andru Defeye and Stockton Poet Laureate Tama Brisbane, and a whole bunch of fun, spoken word and surprises.
