On Saturday, November 12 at 12:30 p.m., Area five Sacramento City Unified School District Trustee Chinua Rhodes and City of Sacramento Commissioner Joe Flores hosts a student opening weekend screening of Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever for SCUSD Students and their family members at no cost to them.

In partnership with Sacramento City Unified School District and Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), Sacramento City Councilmembers Rick Jennings and Mai Vang sponsored and secured three theaters and concession tickets for all attendees.

“Representation matters! I am very excited to co-host this fun family event that will showcase diversity on the big screen,” Trustee Chinua Rhodes said. “An event like this cannot happen without the help of our community partners, principals and district staff, and I want to thank them for believing in my vision in creating district events that I needed when I was SCUSD student for today’s students.”

The screening will take place at Regal Delta Shores, 8136 Delta Shores Circle Sacramento, CA 95832.

Student check-in will begin at 11:15 a.m., followed by a purple carpet walk, photos, and a Trustee’s welcome & partner comments in theater 14.

Showtime will begin at 12:30 p.m.
