Arden Stories: The Pop Up Shop At Arden Fair

Fashion trends come and go, and The Pop Up Shop at Arden Fair helps patrons keep up. Owner Aeisha Ransom started with a shop off Florin Road with her husband. She plans to use the new site to amplify other brands.

“The Pop Up Shop is a space for entrepreneurs to get their products out to the community,” Ransom said. “We have local vendors, clothing accessories and all that good stuff. We created a space and a platform for them that they may have not normally reached and the mall does just that.”

The space on Florin housed individual businesses, but COVID-19 made The Pop Up Shop change how it supported local businesses. After a search, Ransom decided to try Arden Fair. The leasing agent at the time wanted to ensure there was a brick-and-mortar, Black-owned store in the mall. Ransom, who employs her sisters to help manage daily operations, seized the opportunity.

“Now we have over nine businesses in the Arden Fair,” Ransom said, “It’s such an amazing feeling, it’s something you would not expect to happen, and the fact that we brought … 65 other entrepreneurs with us.”
