Arden Stories: Larea's Elite Salon

Time is always important when you have to find something to wear, maybe grab a few extras from department stores, and still need to get your hair cut or styled – plus a pedicure, or some lashes put in. Sitting next to Forever 21 at Arden Fair is Larea’s Elite Salon, owned by Larea Nicole, a stylist herself, doing adult’s and kids’ hair.

Hair isn’t her only calling; she also acts and models.

The salon offers a variety of expert stylists. You can bring your kids to get their hair done, see a barber or nail and lash technician.

Larea celebrated Black History Month by opening her salon. Leasing agent Kristina Osbourn has had her eye out for local Black businesses to fill the open storefronts at Arden Fair. “When I first started I really noticed that Sacramento has so many small businesses and that was something that I wanted to highlight,” Osbourn said.

That diversity has shown itself in the mall and Larea has noticed. “I’m really excited to be a part of this time right now. It is very diverse now. Before walking through the mall I didn’t see any Black businesses. Now I see almost a dozen,” she said.
