The new marriage between the Sacramento River Cats and Sacramento Kings was celebrated at the final game of the River Cats’ season with a ceremonial first pitch delivered by San Francisco Giants legend and Major League Baseball’s home run king, Barry Bonds. He sent a heater right into the mit of Dinger, the River Cats’ mascot, who was accompanied by Slamson, the Kings’ mascot.

The Kings recently became majority owner of the Minor League Baseball triple-A ballclub in a deal that also involved the Savage family and Arctos Sports Partners. Susan Savage will continue as a strategic business adviser and remains part of the ownership group.

The River Cats, propelled by a three-run first inning, beat the Las Vegas Aviators (Oakland A’s affiliate) 5-0 in the Wednesday matinee.

The River Cats finished with a record of 65-83.
