Full Interview with Nappy Roots' Rapper, Fish Scales

Don’t call it a comeback…Southern rappers The Nappy Roots are set to perform in Sacramento on Friday, July 15. The Nappy Roots will take the stage as part of the summer Concert In The Park series at Cesar Chavez Park.

The group, based in Atlanta and Kentucky, is known for such albums as “Country Fried Cess,” “Watermelon, Chicken and Grits” and “The Pursuit of Nappyness.” Their hit songs include “Po Folks,” “Awnaw” and “Good Day.”

The OBSERVER Senior Staff Writer Genoa Barrow sat down with group member Fish Scales to talk about what a local audience can expect from these hip-veterans.
