OPINION – “Don’t give up just because things are hard.” – Anonymous

Over the last 11 years I have found myself in a mental place where I didn’t know if I could handle another life challenge or business adversity but somewhere deep down inside of me a small inner voice always said “just give it one more try and one more day”. As I look back on those milestone moments today I realize that every adversity was not meant to break me nor were they placed in my path to knock me off track. But rather, to push me into the next phase of abundance in my life.

And while I can sit here with the mental satisfaction that I have come so far despite the challenges I have faced, I am also  aware that for so many others there was not such promising fate. Knowing this fact I can’t help but to wonder why? Why do some find the courage to continue on when all seems lost while others make the decision to give up.

Finding myself pondering this knowledge over the last several days I have come to the conclusion that although the severity of each circumstance is vastly different based upon each individual, one thing remains constant and that is God will never put too much a burden on us that we cannot handle. Which brings me to my next point:

The basic instructions before leaving this earth reads (aka The Bible): “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it would obey you!” In light of this passage could it be that those who give up too soon because things became too hard simply lack the ability to have unwavering faith?

Regardless of the answer, here are 5 reversal perspectives that you can add to your spiritual bank so that when you become undefeated in life you know how to respond vs. react to the challenges:

  1. You are not an exception; We all get hit with the blindside of life.
  2. Just like the seasons come and go, so shall your adversity because there is a season for everything.
  3. Embrace it. It has not been birthed to defeat you but rather to prepare you for the next level of your life.
  4. Recycle the pain. Turn that into your fuel to continue on.
  5. Know that the greatest gifts in life are of the outcome of struggle.

Be Bold. Be Great. Be You.
