OPINION – Thomas Edison once stated: “I’ve never failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

On Saturday I decided it was time to let go of the past, embrace the present and welcome in my future self. As I sat down to write my goodbye letter to the manifestations that I created in times past, something hit me at the core of my soul. It was clear that I had failed more times than I actually succeeded unknowingly.

Unlike most, I became inspired and intrigued by my past setbacks and defeats. Why? Because the clarity that was brought forth was astounding to me.

The truth is, one of the most common causes of failures is the habit of quitting when defeat has overtaken oneself. The ability to develop the will power and “stickability” when you can’t see the end result is hard to do. And in fact, that is the exact thing that stops the majority of brilliant humans who in essence were simply three feet from their gold mine.

While this eye-awakening moment was of inspiration to me, I couldn’t help but to wonder how many ideas have been buried forever because they were simply three feet from their dreams and were unaware of the process to success?

I have discovered that before success takes root in the physical form in anyone’s life, he/she will inevitably be faced with much temporary defeat and some failures. When this takes place the easiest thing to do and in most cases the most logical thing to do is to quit.

However, by shifting the perspective on what failure actually is can be the catalyst that keeps you going when the going get’s a little tough.

By coming to a place of understanding that failure and success are in alignment with each other, both of which are a step beyond and behind one another you will realize that success is within your reach at the very moment when you feel like giving up.

So, learn from the past, embrace your present and welcome in your future because you are only three feet from your promise land.

Be Bold. Be Great.Be You.
