SACRAMENTO – All parents, guardians and students of the community are invited to attend the next Black Parallel School Board Meeting on Saturday, January 3.

The meeting is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Oak Park United Methodist Church, located at 3600 Broadway. This month’s meeting will feature a presentation by Margaret Fortune, President and CEO of Fortune School of Education. Ms. Fortune is the co-founder of a number of local charter schools aimed at erradicating the academic achievement gap for local African Americans and providing quality education opportunities for all. Locally, schools include Fortune School, Alan Rowe College Prep Academy, William H. Lee College Prep Academy, and Ephraim Williams Middle School.
