SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Kings will have a series of events to gather members of the public who want to show their support and participate in the City Council’s final vote on the downtown Entertainment & Sports Center (ESC). The schedule includes the Power Forward Rally, NBA Draft Lottery Viewing, City Council Viewing and press conferences featuring Vivek Ranadivé and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson. Here’s the following times and locations for the day of events: 2:30 p.m. PDT – #PowerForward Rally at City Hall (Courtyard, 915 I Street)

  • Multiple LED screens will show a live broadcast of the NBA Draft Lottery, followed by the City Council meeting beginning at 6pm.
  • Program with speakers and entertainment – Kings Announcer Scott Moak to emcee.
  • Live broadcasts from KHTK’s Grant Napear and Carmichael Dave.
  • Appearances by Slamson and Kings Dancers.
  • Kings Digital Headquarters to showcase fan social media updates.
  • Food trucks with food and drinks for sale.
  • Free “Power Forward” shirts to the first 1,000 attendees.

4:00 p.m. PDT – Overflow/Council Meeting Viewing at KBAR (1000 K Street)

  • Televisions will show a live broadcast of the NBA Draft Lottery, followed by the City Council meeting beginning at 6pm.
  • Appearances by Slamson and Kings Dancers.
  • Programming at KBAR will continue after the City Council meeting until 2am, pending City Council approval of the ESC project.

TBD – News conference with Mayor Kevin Johnson and Vivek Ranadivé(Courtyard, 915 I Street)

  • Immediately following the City Council’s historic vote, elected officials, Kings owners and community leaders will hold a news conference on the stage in the City Hall courtyard.
