OPINION – George Bernard Shaw once stated: “Life isn’t about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself.”
It was Sunday, and like most Sunday’s I woke up, thanking God for the present gift he had given me and then I anxiously grab my remote control and tuned into “Super Soul Sunday” which airs on Oprah’s OWN network. I must admit, on that particular Sunday, I was so glad I did.
She went around the panel that was on her show and asked each one to describe what “living with passion” meant to them. As each guest in their own words presented their thoughts, there was one answer that stood out to me more than the rest. It was bottled up in three simple words:
“Finding your Purpose.”
After hearing that, I proceeded to do what we all do nowadays — I looked up the true definition of the word “purpose” on Wikipedia. The great wiki said purpose is: a reason for which something exists. I sat for a few minutes pondering on this definition. And then it came to me in warp speed. A question that precedes all of us at some point in our lives: “Am I living my life with a purpose?”
You see, everything that is created at this very moment exists for a reason, to include yourself. As human beings we have the ability to inject greatness into everything we touch and do. One of the most effective ways to discovering your passions, your purpose and your gifts that were given to you at birth is to apply enthusiasm in your daily life. It could include showing up on your job with an attitude of gratefulness, loving your family unconditionally, taking care of your mind, body and soul at its highest level.
I encourage you to ask yourself the same question that showed up in my own mind — “Are you living your life with a purpose?”
You can start to own your future right now, by bringing passion into your day-to-day life. Remember, you have greatness within you. You have talents, gifts, dreams and ideas that are only inside of you. It is your purpose to share them with the world. There will come a time where your life will flash before your eyes … make sure that movie is worth watching.
Be Bold. Be Great. Be You.

WOW ..What a title… Are you worth watching (the movie of our lives)
and what a compelling “message”.
Tiana, as you so aptly put …
Every one of us is BORN with talents, gifts, and ideas that are unique to us.
The journey begins when we acknowledge our talents …
embrace the things that we really find “joy” in doing…
and find ways that we can share those gifts that we own,
in a way that brings benefit, joy, and value to as many people as possible.
Thank you Tiana …
for inspiring us to dig a little deeper within ourselves,
to see how we all can contribute to making the world a better place
through the unique “gifts” that we offer … every day.
Tiana .,,. we look forward to more of these powerful posts !
