SACRAMENTO – Three public forums are scheduled to discuss the downtown arena financing plans. The first is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 21 at City Hall. The arena is the second part of the equation to convince the NBA Board of Governers to keep the Sacramento Kings in the place they have been since 1985.

Billionaire Ron Burkle and 24-hour Fitness founder Mark Mastrov are the investors leading the ownership and arena negotiations with the city. Public funding is expected to be a major part of the arena deal.

The second forum will be held in North Sacramento at the Robertson Community Center on Norwood Avenue on Friday. The third is at the Sam Pannell Community Center on Meadowview Road in South Sacramento. Both forums will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m..

Depending on the outcome of the details, the City Council is expected to vote on the plan at the next meeting on March 26.

The Robertson Community Center is located at 3525 Norwood Avenue and the Sam Pannell Community Center is at 2450 Meadowview Road.
