WASHINGTON – The 2013 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation General Mills Health Scholarship Program will provide scholarships for students who plan to continue their education in the fields of medicine, engineering, technology, nutrition or another health-related field and have financial need.

Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates or be current postsecondary undergraduates or graduate level students; must plan to enroll or be students who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program; and must have a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.

Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with a current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not acceptable. Online transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours earned for each course, and term in which each course was taken. Applicants will receive acknowledgment of receipt of their application.

Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.

The deadline is February 25, 2013.
