HOLLYWOOD – In what sounds like a riff on the iconic 80′s buddy cop series “Miami Vice,” Jamie Foxx is developing a series called “Hit” for TNT.
According to Deadline Hollywood, the drama, co-written by Foxx and television producer Robert Port, centers on two former high school football teammates and best friends — one a quarterback, one a wide receiver — who years later are drafted by the Miami Police Department and assigned to HIT (High Impact Team).
The same shorthand that made them unstoppable on the gridiron makes them successful at taking down the most dangerous criminals in the city.
Foxx, who stars in Quentin Tarantino’s revenge drama “Django Unchained,” co-created “The Jamie Foxx Show” and won an Oscar for his performance in “Ray.”
