DEL PASO HEIGHTS – For the last couple of weeks, Allen Wayne Warren, off and on, has been gaining momentum in his campaign run against Rob Kerth for the City Council District 2 seat.
For the first time since the Nov. 6 General Election, the developer from North Sacramento has pulled ahead of Kerth by 35 votes. As of Wednesday afternoon, Warren has 5,818 votes (50.03 percent) to Kerth’s 5,783 votes (49.73 percent), the Sacramento County’s Registrar of Voters Office reported.
The latest results are the most promising for Warren who is running for elected office for the first time. With it being such a close race, political insiders speculate that there would likely be a recount once all the ballots have been tallied.
In the District 4 Council race, Steve Hansen is currently the leader with 10,869 votes (50.24 percent) to Joseph Yee’s 10,730 votes (49.06). All indications are that this race could be subjected to a recount as well once the final vote is counted.
