SACRAMENTO – The Black Parallel School Board is asking parents, students, grandparents and the whole community to attend its next meeting, March 3.

The meeting, a “Presentation on the State of Black Students Education,” starts at 10:00 a.m., at the Oak Park Methodist Church in Oak Park.

Founded in 2008, The Black Parallel School Board (BPSB) is a community organization developed to work parallel to the Sacramento City Unified District Board of Education.

Its major responsibility is to support the educational growth and achievement of Black student needs
BPSB also monitors all educational activities and programs of local school districts to ensure that they are compatible with the needs of African American students in the districts. Additionally, the BPSB provides support services to parents regarding the education of their children.

Oak Park Methodist Church in Oak Park is located at 3600 Broadway.
