SACRAMENTO – For the thousands of women who are without an interview suit or professional-looking ensemble, Dress for Success, the international non-profit organization that promotes economic independence for the disadvantaged women, has teamed up with Dressbarn, the national retailer of women’s clothing, to collect and distribute professional attire for its 10th Annual “Send One Suit Weekend.”

To give underprivileged women across the country the ability to walk into a job interview with confidence, is the goal of this partnership – the path to self-sufficiency begins with the elementary tools to get their foot in the door.

From March 1-4, gently-used suits, pants, shirts, skirts, shoes and other professional items can be donated at any of the 825 dressbarn locations nationwide. These donations will be distributed amongst local non-profit organizations to be given to less fortunate women looking to re-enter the workforce.

Locally donations can be dropped off at Dressbarn Park Place, 4710 Natomas Boulevard, Sacramento and at the Crestview Village Shopping Center location, 4758 Manzanita Avenue, Carmichael.

All items that are collected at local Dressbarn stores will be donated to Dress For Success. The women who come to Dress for Success are all referred by partner agencies, other non-profits and government agencies that have a job-training component to them. All programs are free of charge to the women served.

  1. These clothes are not given to local women. They go to the San Francisco Dress for Success location. Working Women International is a local organization that provides interview clothing and business apparel to women in the Sacramento Metropolitan area.
