Members of the Kyles Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion
Church had the occasion to both reflect on the past and look
ahead to the future recently, marking a milestone in their
history.
The local church celebrated its 94th Anniversary & Homecoming
May 22-23 with a slate of activities. The theme of this year’s
celebration was “A Vision of Hope is Our Church’s
Future.”
The anniversary and homecoming was highlighted by a luncheon
held at the Doubletree Hotel and special worship services
at the church. The guest speaker for both events was Bishop

Episcopal District. Bishop Hines is the first female AME Zion
Bishop.
Kyles Temple itself is led by a female pastor, Rev. Gloria

by Chairperson Cordia Wade and Co-Chairperson Birdie Deese.

by Sacramento NAACP President Betty Williams and the selection
of an anniversary King and Queen — Warren Tippie and
