SACRAMENTO – The United College Action Network, Inc. wants local students to know that higher education is possible and invites them to attend its 17th Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities Recruitment Fair on Saturday, September 17.
The local recruitment fair will take place at Kennedy High School, located at 6715 Gloria Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Those who attend can learn what HBCUs have to offer. Speak with recruiters from 30-40 different schools representing hundreds of majors and professional degrees, Receive application waivers. “On the spot” admissions, if qualified. Scholarships awarded, if qualified. Seniors should bring copies of the current transcripts and SAC/ACT test scores, if available. Juniors and others can bring a copy of their transcripts.
HBCUs scheduled to participate include Alabama A&M, Alcorn State, Bethune Cookman University, Clark Atlanta, Fisk, Grambling State, Hampton University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, and Wilberforce University. Those considering the military can meet with representatives from the U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Merchant Marine Academy and Navy.
