OPINION – “Every day we have 1,440 minutes. That means we have 1,440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact.” – Les Brown
Over the past year I have begun thinking about the essence of life and all of the elements that bring forth the many lessons and experiences that become our molder of sorts in reference to who we are and who we turn out to be.
I guess in a way, every time my age number increases by one on the annual calendar, I start to discover a part of myself that is unexposed in prior years. For example, even though I am 34 years young and some would consider my mindset ahead of my years, I still find myself pondering on the true meaning of life as well as the impact and legacy that I will have beyond my physical self.
You see, for most people thinking along these lines is a scary thought. However for myself, it’s necessary as it serves as my daily fuel to be fully present, make a positive impact in the world and be of inspired service to others.
I once read that the average person has approximately 3,900 Saturdays (give or take) to enjoy while living in our physical bodies. And during which time we also have six other days in between to create a life that is fulfilled with memories and not regrets. Knowing this, I couldn’t help but to wonder how many people who come to the end of their road, look back on life and choke on the dust of their own regrets?
When you really start to think about the amount of Saturdays, the quantity of years, months and the 1,440 daily minutes that we are gifted to experience, I can’t help but to wonder why more people choose to live a life based on a reflection of someone else as opposed to themselves.
The truth is, each one of us was birthed into this world with talents and gifts, Some choose to cultivate that power into a life filled with self-realization and come to their end with no compunction; While others sadly will come to their end wishing that they would have done more.
The good news is that as you read this, you are given the phenomenal capability to expose your talents to the world based upon the 1,440 minutes we have a day.
Be Bold. Be Great. Be You.
