(OPINION) – “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” – President Barack Obama
My motto for 2016 has been “If it’s meant to be, it’s up to me.” Meaning, it was time to raise my level of consciousness so that I can levitate my life. I will be the first to admit that my drive to create a high level of success in my own life is vastly different from every other human being. However, I believe deep down inside that while my push to be all that I can be is somewhat rare, the fact of the matter is that what lies in each and everyone of us is a burning desire to achieve a dream.
You see, we can question the dynamics from each individual and come up with this random percentage or number to justify those who become what society perceives as “greatness” but the real question should be: “What makes the majority of humans become stuck at one stage of their life?”
If, for a moment we all take full responsibility for what we have created thus far in our existence; I truly believe what we will discover is that our associations also known as our inner circle, the books we read (if any) and the things that we allow to rent space in our minds will be a direct reflection as to what our current state of being actually resembles.
The truth is, because the majority of us lack the ability to own up what we have manifested, the power to change becomes irrelevant thus, creating a trickle down effect of entitlement waiting on someone or something to bail us out of the life we have authored.
I believe wholeheartedly that every human soul that is breathing air has the drive to set in motion a new change in their life. But change cannot happen until you change yourself first.
Be Bold. Be Great. Be You.
