SACRAMENTO – African American babies take center stage as First 5 Sacramento invites local child advocates and other stakeholders to attend a special meeting on Tuesday, May 27.
The African American Health Coalition Leadership Summit is scheduled to be held from 8:30 to 11:30 at the Sierra Health Foundation, located at 1321 Garden Highway.
Participants will learn more about the disproportionate number of infant deaths facing the African American community and what can be done to help. They’ll also hear how First 5 Sacramento and its partners are addressing the issue. Participants will get a sneak peak of the Sacramento region’s new media campaign created to reduce the number of African American infant deaths. Learn how to get involved in campaign efforts and help raise awareness.
The First 5 Sacramento Commission’s mission is to support the healthy development of children zero to age five, empower families and to strengthen communities.
