SACRAMENTO – When wannabe diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a crime, the police hide her in the most unlikely place, a convent.

Deloris reluctantly transforms into Sister Mary Clarence and soon teaches the real nuns how to find their voices. The story is familiar, but its been given a whole new life.

Sister Act, Broadway’s smash musical, comes to Sacramento’s Community Center Theater April 8-13. Sister Act is based on the 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg. The touring musical is appropriate for ages 8 and over.

Showtimes are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:00 p.m., Thursday and Saturday at 2:00 and 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 12 noon. Tickets are $21-$88 and are available at the Box Office, online at www.californiamusicaltheatre.com or by calling (916) 557-1999.
