Calvary Christian Center’s “More Than Just A Man” begins April 16th

SACRAMENTO – Calvary Christian Center’s Theatre Arts Ministry presents the dramatic Easter musical, “More Than Just A Man,” April 16-18 and April 20. The church invites the public to “come see the ministry, life, death and resurrection of Jesus through the eyes of Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea in this touching musical.” More than Just a Man is a compelling glimpse into the controversy surrounding the Messiah and his triumphant resurrection. Center of Praise Ministries hosts its Citywide Resurrection Celebration on Good Friday, April 18. The free concert is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. and features a guest performance by gospel producer/songwriter/recording artist Deon Kipping. Kipping’s albums include “I Just Want To Hear You” and “Real Life, Real Worship.” Kipping has also created works for Marvin Sapp, Timothy Wright and Youthful Praise. Bayside of South Sacramento holds Stations of the Cross April 18 and 19 and invites local faithful to “experience Passion Week and the events leading up to Jesus’ death with this self-guided, contemplative experience incorporating Bible reading, meditation, prayer and communion.”  Reflective session are geared toward adults and youth age nine and above. Sessions will be held Friday, April 18 from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church’s Campus 44 location, located at 6524 44th Street, #208. Greater Grace Worship Center presents the sermon/play “The Whip, Hammer & Cross” at 11:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 20. Described as “life changing,” the presentation includes drama, praise dance and a live choir performance. Event is free and open to all ages.
