SACRAMENTO – Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Far Western Region will host their 85th Public Meeting from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014. The community is invited to attend the Public Meeting to be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Sacramento Hotel. The Public Meeting will recognize and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the Sacramento and greater Sacramento area. The Public Meeting will take place during Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s 85th Far Western Regional Conference in Sacramento. Admission to the Public Meeting is FREE and a reception will follow.

Led by 24th Far Western Regional Director, Dr. Barbara Denson Trotter, the 85th Far Western Regional Conference is expected to host over 1,000 attendees and guests. The conference will include leadership training and professional development workshops for members with a special emphasis on economic development, technology, education and career development.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2014, a Youth Summit will take place at Edward Harris, Jr. Middle School (8691 Power Inn Road, Elk Grove 95624) from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
