CA Black Health Network Hosts Inaugural Golf Classic

black woman golfSACRAMENTO – The California Black Health Network will hold its inaugural 2013 Golf Classic at Lincoln Hills Golf Club, Wednesday, April 24, 1005 Sun City Lane. Registration starts at 11:00 a.m.

The Golf Classic benefits the Birthing Project Clinic and New Beginnings Birth and Wellness Center, subsidiaries of the Center for Community Health and Well Being

This year’s event will have exciting game, prizes and contests, including the $100,000 Shoot-Out and the $2,500 Putting Challenge. In addition, one lucky golfer will win a 3 day/2 night vacation! Lincoln Hills Golf Club, is a beautifully landscaped 36 hole championship golf course.

Come out for a day of fun, excitement, great food and terrific golf. This year’s Honorary Golf Tournament chairperson is the Honorable Holly Mitchell (Chair of the California Legislative Black Caucus). The Honorary Golf Tournament Co-Chairmen is actor John Marshall Jones (TV Show “The Smart Guy”) Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, and the honorable Assemblyman Steven Bradford.

Celebrity golfers include Petri Byrd (TV Show “Judge Judy”) Christopher Michael Holley (movies “Smoking Aces” and “Pride and Glory”)Omar Gooding (TV Show “Smart Guy” and movie “Baby Boy”), Harry J. Lennix (movies “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolution”), and Derek Leggins (former NFL Pro, The Washington Redskins).

The California Black Health Network (CBHN) is a statewide organization dedicated to improving the health status of the 2.2 million people of African descent in California.

CBHN’s mission is to advocate for programs, regulations, and policies that serve to eliminate health disparities disproportionately affecting the African American community including obesity, diabetes, hypertension, AIDS, breast and prostate cancer.
