SACRAMENTO – Her “sistah stories” landed her atop many a bestseller’s list, making her a prime example of literary excellence.

Terry McMillan comes to Sacramento on Sunday, March 24 to deliver the keynote address during an event titled, “Building Bridges To Excellence.” The event, is the 59th Annual Scholarship Brunch hosted by the Zeta Beta Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the Zeta Beta Lambda Foundation.

The brunch will begin at 1:00 p.m. inside California State University, Sacramento’s University Union Grand Ballroom. Doors open at 12:00 noon for a silent auction and book signing. McMillan is the author of such books as “Mama,” “The Interruption of Everything” and “A Day Late and a Dollar Short.” Her books “Waiting To Exhale,” “Disappearing Acts” and the autobiographical “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” were made into films.

Tickets are $60 per person. Proceeds benefit the Alpha’s annual scholarship fund for local youth pursuing higher education.
