SACRAMENTO – The California Black Chamber of Commerce and its President Aubry Stone host the 2013 Welcome Back Reception for new members and leaders of the California Legislature from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, 1230 J Street.
The annual Legislative reception is attended by a wide array of California business and community leaders. It provides an opportunity for small business owners to network with legislators in a relaxed atmosphere and share information related to critical legislation affecting minority and African American owned businesses throughout the state.
It also gives the CBCC a platform to publicly recognize those elected officials and business leaders who have performed meritorious service.
Such leaders to be recognized are incoming and outgoing Legislative Black Caucus Chairs, Assemblymember Holly Mitchell and Senator Curren Price, PUC Commissioner Carla Peterman and Timothy Simon.
The Policy Luncheon will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:30 am at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, 1230 J Street. The luncheon offers an opportunity to converse with government and community leaders to discuss the political climate of our state and address the real issues of small minority businesses and underserved communities. This year’s luncheon will give special recognition to California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones.
“With the challenges facing the American economy, there has never been a more crucial time for the members of the business community to come together with our elected officials and strengthen the lines of communication,” said Stone
“Now more than ever, the right hand has to let the left hand know what it is doing, and why, for the survival of the entire body.”
