SACRAMENTO – The Sacramento Branch NAACP is asking for support to keep providing much-needed services and programs to the community.
Local president Tyrone Netters says the non-profit organization is as relevant as ever and points to its power to make things happen.
“The national and local NAACP chapters played a vital role in this year’s election by registering thousands of individuals that resulted in a record number of voters getting out to the polls,” Netters shared.
In addition to taking on issues of civil rights, the local NAACP offers a number of free programs to the public including a legal clinic, a new homebuyer’s empowerment program and a youth component that seeks to motivate and inspire the next generation of leaders.
“Maintaining these very important programs and activities is an arduous one, requiring great dedication, fortitude and money,” Netters shared.
The organization is accepting donations of “any amount you can afford” and pledges, which allow supporters to make payments of their donation over time. Donations can be sent to the Sacramento Branch NAACP, P.O. Box 188557, Sacramento, CA. 95818.
