U-CAN to Host Historically Black College Recruitment Fair

SACRAMENTO – The United College Action Network (U-CAN) will present the 11th Annual Historically Black College Recruitment Fair at two schools in Sacramento this weekend.

Sacramento Charter High School’s recruitment fair is from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 14. On Saturday, Sept. 15, the fair will be held at Monterey Trail High School from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
A partial list of participating colleges includes: Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Benedict College, Clark Atlanta University, Dillard University, Grambling State University, Hampton University, Howard University, Johnson C. Smith University, Morehouse College, and Morgan State University.

In addition, North Carolina A & T State University, South Carolina State University, Texas Southern University, Tuskegee University, Virginia State University and Xavier University of Louisiana, are among colleges and universities participating at the fairs. Each college fair event is free and open to the public and all students.

Students who wish to apply and qualify for “on-the-spot” admissions and scholarships should bring an official transcript, if available, and a copy of their ACT/SAT test scores, if taken, for each college application they plan to complete. All high school and community college students and their parents will not want to miss this annual college planning event and opportunity.
